They motored away from Lumbari at about 6:30 p.m., heading northwest to Blackett Strait, between the small island of Gizo and the bigger Kolombangara. In March 1945, the 29th Infantry Division was ordered to attack in the industrial sector of the Ruhr, where the Germans resisted fiercely despite being surrounded. One of them told me I could help them.
